A Guided Pilgrimage led by Ash Barker…
Guided by Rev Dr Ash Barker, resident of Winson Green, local Minister and founder of Seedbeds. (www.seedbeds.org)
More details on the programme….
We meet at Melrose Abbey Melrose at midday on day one. Please make your own way there, though there is an option to join the support van leaving from Winson Green in Birmingham if that is convenient.
We stay at the same Walkerwalls Bunkhouse near Wooler for 5 nights so you don’t have to carry all of your baggage each day. There are single bunkbeds dormitory style and need a sleeping bag, towel and be prepared to share a room with others.
If you want a more comfortable stay you can book your own private accommodation in Wooler and be picked up each morning and dropped off each night after dinner at the bunk house.
There is a support van with a designated driver and guide (Dave Mann) that picks us up from our accommodation each day, gets us to the right place to start our walk each morning, meets us at different sections during the day and drives us back to our accommodation each night. This helps with safety and accessibility for pilgrims.
We offer experienced guides (Ash Barker with Faith and Scott Brennan) who help navigate on the way and facilitate the group sharing in a morning reflection, mid-day prayers on the way and a debrief at night. No religious background is necessary to be open to this experience.
All main meals are provided. Basic breakfast of toast and cereal. You prepare your own packed lunch the night before with bread and spreads provided. We share a hot meal together at night. If you want to bring any special snacks, food or drinks to share you can do that too.
We hope that this pilgrimage experience will help:
Spark your prophetic imagination.
Connect you deeper with God and comrades in Shalom.
Nurture hope and help prepare you for what is possible where you live.
